Optometrist
Dr. Matthew Scott graduated from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 2002. After graduation, Dr. Scott opened a practice in Shattuck, Oklahoma, which eventually expanded into Northwest Eye Associates and now serves the communities of Shattuck and Woodward, Oklahoma. Dr. Scott and his family were looking for a change in lifestyle and a way to spend more time outdoors; and after vacationing in the area, they made the move to Buena Vista. Dr. Scott opened Collegiate Peaks Eyecare in October 2014. The practice moved into their current location in May 2015.
Dr. Scott is originally from Johnson, Kansas. He received a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. Dr. Scott is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Colorado Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. He served as Chairman of the Board for Newman Memorial Hospital. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. He and his wife Jenny have two sons, Connor and Logan. Dr. Scott is active in the Buena Vista community, supporting Boys and Girls Club, Buena Vista athletics, the BV Peaks committee and also coaches high school basketball. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Colorado Optometric Association.
